The Final Malmö Vintage Expo

Last week Saturday I went to the Malmö Vintage Expo!

I had a really nice time, but sadly I learned that this would be Vintage Malmö's last expo. There were fewer boutiques participating this time compared to previous expos, but there was still a great deal of vintage items to choose from.

That Fyffes banana knife I'm holding from Butik Åh Så Fin's table was adorable! By the way, if you love vintage homeward and knickknacks and happen to find yourself in eastern Skåne, head over to the beautiful little medieval city of Åhus and visit them!

They also had this Rörstrand teacup and saucer set that I really liked, but I took too long to decide if they really matched what I have at home...so someone else decided for me and they were gone when I went back to check on them.

And so our search continued! My friend Helena checked out some cute postcards. She ended up finding volumes one and two of The (Swedish) Princesses' Cookbook, printed in the 1930's to give away as a gift.

Of course I didn't go home empty handed either! Here were the things I had to take home with me:

A dress, naturally! This little 1950's dress will be perfect for kicking around this summer.

A fabulous, sparkly gold sequined and beaded purse. I don't have anything like this and it'll be just perfect for the next glamourous evening out.

And last but definitely not least, midcentury American cocktail glasses featuring a leaf motif complete with serving rack from Austin's Vintage from Göteborg. Basically, this means I now have an excuse for more cocktail parties!

And that was it. I had a great time, but it really is too bad that this will be the last one. Sweden's other major cities also have vintage expos I could go to, but I loved having an expo right here in Malmö. I hope that another organisation considers carrying on where Vintage Malmö left off...Malmö's vintage fans deserve a celebration of vintage right here at home!
